Martha’s Vineyard

Susan gave me the great gift of a painting weekend at Martha’s Vineyard, hosted at the Featherstone Center for the Arts. We did some semi-plein air work at the beach, and this was the result I created.

This was done in oils rather than acrylics, and that experience convinced me to move away from acrylics and go towards oils. The medium just seemed to work better for the kind of things I can do, and eventually, want to do. Acrylics are fun, but I struggle with how quickly they dry for the kinds of blending and detail I want to achieve.
